Vestas.
Danish wind turbine producer.
World largest producer.
The got the downturn wrong, but now I think people got the whole situation wrong.
It will be fine. Major capital goods are going to shine again, and we need cheap, clean power.
Vestas...a 10 bagger.

On sale right now - best wind company in the world.

They just opened up their North American Headquarters here in Portland Oregon, the best city for that I think. Until biotech revolutionizes the fuel business, dinosaur energy will keep getting more expensive relative to wind generators: the low hanging fruit has already been picked, beep water drilling will become a "not near my yard" issue, and electric cars are finally viable. There could be short-term glitches like rare-earth imports drying up, but this kind of progress will march along, subsidies or no. I like thin film solar more, but Nano-Solar is private, and the electrical system is more complicated for me; this is simple.

Didn't realize it had gotten this cheap. I went to their website awhile ago, and they emailed me a very comprehensive investors package. Seem like a very stable and well run company. A long term pick. Thanks Binve for reminding me of this one.

Wind is already at grid parity for new construction. 50% of the capacity added the last two years in the US was wind. Considering the oil gushing into the gulf it seems like the right time to get into alternatives.

a proven technical performer, but future depends on carbon cost and subsidies

wind energy seems good

Wind is a key piece of the world's energy puzzle. As manufacturing becomes more efficient and battery technology improves the feasibility of large wind projects in optimum locations will increase.

I love Vestas and we established a position in February, late after a significant run up on the stock. Since then it's been trending flat- to paper- loss.
We will continue to invest in it, since they are the undisputed leader.
I downthumb because the infrastructure spending in NA has been significantly delayed. Green energy still has not attained the all-important grid-parity with other forms of dinosaur fuels. Additionally, too much attention is being paid to natural gas for alt energy to pick up the slack. (Natural gas is touted in the States as the 'home grown' green fuel, on account of its emissions profile when compared to coal and oil.)
Finally, Vestas and many green energies depend upon subsidies. We have already seen that these are drying up in progressive markets such as Europe's, and we haven't seen the anticipated spike here in the States.
Buy the stock by all means (we will) but be prepared for a long sit out on the benches.

Wind is emerging. Vestas leads in making turbines.

Clean energy juggernaut.

don't usually pick the pinks or OTCs from this "player", but bean1999 makes a convincing argument for a longer-term hold

Wind power player from Denmark. Lots of contracts in lots of countries. Increasing U.S. work force from 1,000 to 4,000 this year - building new production facilities in Colorado and opening R&D in Boston & Houston. I'm buying the "lead dog" on a good macro trend line.

The europeans have started cycling back building more farms. The envirnmental terroriset ( thank you Janet) have to many birds and bugs and rodentia to litigate for. who knows windmills maybe more dangerious than nuks. our planet may sink up and fly out of our own atmosphere. woe is we.

Market leader. When financing opens up and capital starts flowing for big wind farms vestas will do well along with everyone else doing wind.

Solid with technology that has yet to reach its full potential

Wind Power is set to grow rapidly worldwide in the next few years, so I'm snapping up stocks that are still close to their 52 week lows before the market realizes the long term value in this sector. I've already picked a few discount Wind ETFs, now it's time to add a few worthy specific stocks in this market for long term growth. The high outperform ratio is also a plus. It would have been better to pick this last month, but it should still perform well over the next 3-5 years.
