+ Watch VZ
on My Watchlist
A leading communications provider, Verizon offers wireless service and telecom for home and business.
Verizon is the dominant carrier in its markets.
Stable business good upside outlook
VERIZON COMM, ticker VZ, has a TTM ROE calculated by Zacks of 101,26%. It's one of my LONG picks.
Added this in my real life portfolio. This is a dividend play for me. My investing life has taught me that I'm not that great of an investor. I need to be more patient. So, instead of pursuing capital gains constantly, I am shifting more of my portfolio to more boring dividends. I think Verizon Wireless is safe, will experience moderate capital appreciation over the long term. The dividend has been consistent and predictable, and risen slightly over time.I'm open to criticism and information sharing as I'm looking to use the caps program as a tool to improve my investing skills.
When cable dies they will offer Internet a la carte service.
ht Research Associates, high quality high dividend report
I'm not giving up my phone no matter what
Stable in coming storm
market leader growth sector
Yes Merger with AOL
Punch #15 – Verizon (VZ)I'll keep this one short and sweet. VZ is the dominant player in two "essential" industries with very little competition, basically sharing duopolies with T and CMCSA.I think VZ future cash flows are almost certain to increase materially over the next decade or longer, and that VZ is selling cheaply in relation to those future cash flows.
For creating the spinning tool of the Devil, underperform for the life of the paid watcher.
While Verizon is currently the leader, and increasing it's customer base, there is a definite limit to their capability. Most of the industry is moving to lower service prices, while VZ is stubbornly holding onto it's overcharging. Furthermore, threats from companies such as Google, who are developing internet services, hold a lot of ground against the current leaders.
