can't lose with great real estate holdings, aging of population, promotions

Solid Management, Growing, People aren't getting younger and drug companies are making more drugs. Plus we're all getting bigger and in the future they'll take big chunks out of the primary care market. Solid Long Term play. Also, best in class company. Can anyone say buy? Did I mention that it's at it's 52 week low and it has a fair amount of Margin of Safety.

More Walgreens than gas stations. Pleasant stores to visit. The perfect, booming, business with the Boomer generation becoming the new Geratol generation. Size is its own advantage sometimes, just as Wal-Mart has shown.
Major intervention by the gov't in the form of drug insurance, regulations, or what have you would just not have any impact on Wags.

I am from Maine and spend our Winters in Florida. Walgreen has just opened it's first store in Maine and it has taken a lot of business from other providers in the area. Their computer system makes getting prescriptions in Maine or Florida really easy and they are very helpful. Their answer to Medicare Part D is also very helpful in that the cost annually is just $20.00 and you get very good comparisons with any other carrier. In fact we saved a lot on money because of the low premium and just excellent service. This is a well managed company with low to no debt. Some of the recent distractions are just that and management will aggressively address them and move forward. Last comment, their parking lot is always full, need I say more.

wag had downgrade on one bad quarter report due to the unplanned hi cost to it;s upcoming medical cost. I feel after a quarter or two of more normal profits the stock will go back up in the upper 40,s low 50,s look at the pe and other indications this is a solid stock.
I say buy now! lm

Great stock to own. This company is managed very well.Did you know walgreen pays as it goes thats right.Everytime they open a new store they pay for it,when it opens it is paid for.Now think about it, how many companies do you know that does this. They have plenty of cash and owe no one,yes no one! They also buy and pay for the property that they will build on months are in some cases years before they do so.Now in todays world this is and sounds crazy but it is true.I believe you can not lose with this stock and is a good one to own for the future.

Almost all the fundamentals are OK. In my view,October's stock drop is not justified reviewing the alleged reasons for it.

people are growing old..they need drugs..so this company will suceed. This is a no brainer

Compare everything from, revenues, profits, management capabilities, other similar companies, I expect WAG to be the most valuable investment.
The company plans to increase 8% of floor area each year and I noticed stable and consistent earnings growth for the past 10 years.
With more baby boomers are into their retirement, I expect this industry to be one of the most profitable ones.
Timeframe is unspecified but I believe it takes 5 years or more to gain maximum return. But you can still expect gain in a year or two. You will regret if you bail out by then though because it will shoot much more in the few more coming years.

Putting in a double-bottom. I expect this one to be a low risk Christmas winner. My other expectation is that a bear market condition will send investors running for traditional cover like food and pharmacy stocks.

Good Samaritan.

Walgreen Co is opening a store every 17 hours. Great management. Excellent computer system.
Recs
No debt, solid management, solid financials, great buying opp.

Higher expenses were a mistake that will not be repeated again. The company will rebound nicely and will learn from this hiccup.

Forward P/E ratio at all time low of 17.00+. Stock fell from a Sept.30,2007 of 45 to 39 due to an expense increase in the 4th qtr ended 8/31/07 which is easily controllable in the future. Based on earnings growth over the last 10 years the P/E ratio should easily be 30.This stock should be rewarded for consistent earnings growth (same store as well as total).

Good company, beaten down stock...it will bounce back 10% but not much more that than in the short term. Looking for that 10%.

Walgreen's is down $5/13% from average 90 days ago and $9/20% from 40 day closing high price. WAG at $38.26 at its 52 week low. CVS has gotten some upgrades due to its integration of Caremark while Walgreen's home-grown warehouse delivery arm needs some work, an upside opportunity.
Basically, Walgreen's missed 4Q/07 with no change in EPS at 10¢ while increasing sales 10%, Yr/Yr. This was caused by selective pricing situation on certain generics where WAG had to meet competition to keep prescriptions while genersting nominal margins. This was a one-time condition that has already righted itself. Screaming BUY opportunity.
Recs
Looking for this to climb back to $50 in next 12 months.
Recs
Great value play... no debt... maybe a bounce to the mid 40s. Pays a relatively small, but fine dividend.
