Wabco is one those companies that Fools should be attracted to. They have an outstanding CEO in Jacques Esculier (while he was at American Standard every division he led became a top performer). They innovate beyond their competition; and are constantly delivering more than their customers expect.

Inherited this from the spin-off from ASD. It makes systems for commercial vehicles like brakes, suspension, stability, transmission regulation, air compression, as well as passenger cars. All things automotive have been hit hard, and WBC is no exception.
It has not done well in the time that I've owned it. The dividend being suspended made me look more closely. As stated above, all things automotive have taken a beating. Imagine our world without mass transit. Imagine what the grocery and department stores would look like if there were no more big rigs on the road.
Mass transit is here to stay. Trucking is here to stay. WBC makes the stuff for them.
There's a presence in India. We all know that India has a growing middle class.
Company officers have been buying shares. An institution just bought enough to be considered a beneficial owner.
As dark as the past has been, WBC makes the stuff that keeps people and merchandise moving. Behind the scenes, sure, but WBC is there.
** rubbing my crystal ball ** I think WBC will do well. I just might buy some additional shares, along with the company officers.

Decent P/E, ROA, acceptable LT debt, decent growth (outside the last quarter but are there really many companies that aren't down?) and .28 dividend. What more could one want in a long term investment?
