WBS has a too high valuation compared to its sales potential. It is also loss making.

Excluding the 19 biggest banks that underwent the stress test, banks with nonperforming loans above 5% had combined deposits of $193 billion, according to Bloomberg data.

Even after some dilution from the recent large capital injection, Webster bank is selling for one half book value. I think it has already taken most of its writeoffs and it should be clear sailing from here. My manufacturing company borrows from Webster and I can assure you that there loan to us is extremely well collateralized. I have done business with a number of secured lenders and Webster is the most thorough.
