These types of companies in oil and gas can still be quite profitable even if crude goes below $100 (which is doubtful). We will see oil go back to above 140 again as it sits at $126 this date.

Whiting is a growing company too as it has just acquired Flat Rock Field in a $365 million acquisition of its property.
This company has an A+ rating with Investor's Business Daily and is best in group. They are ranked number one in their industry that includes 197 players. They have had a 77% change since last year compared to the average of 47% in the industry. They have a very decent EPS of $4.44 and a P/E ratio of $22.92. this is a good bear market pick.

Its Oil... Combined with Northwest Flood/Ethanol/Corn issues today estimates there there is a 20 day supply for ethanol and if all corn is diverted to that food prices will soar. Which do you want to do drive or eat?

Strong and likely productive holdings in the Bakken play make this company a solid pick. If the new floor for crude is somewhere around $110 then shale oil becomes very profitable. This company has a good reputation in the business, and got into the bakken play early while the leases were still relatively cheap.
