Every time an American steps on a scale they are reminded that they are overweight...

Obesity in America coupled with WeightWatcher's extremely proven, simplified diet plan make for huge upside. My wife is on their plan using their Internet points tracking system and it's phenomonal. Buybacks signaling high confidence in current stock price.

A unique "product" (meetings) even in the crowded world of weight loss. Tons of customers as society tells women at every opportunity they are overweight. Lots of repeat customers. Ironic. 68% owned by insiders. CEO Huett's compensation at $1.2 million and has exercised $4.1M in options with $9.7M left to exercise. Seems like she has a good stake in the company doing well. Just a few of my very few bits and pieces here. I have faith in the company.

Market leader, huge share repurchase and an ability to weather a down market. Great long term buy, but keep an eye on the new CEO.
Recs
People keep getting fatter in this country and weight watchers has survived the diet fads. People also do seem successful as long as they keep on a diet of WTW branded products.

Buy on the selloff.
Sell back around $55-60

Lot's of fat people out there and the grocery store is starting to load up on their garb. Potluck, stock is down today.
Recs
Believe that this stock and company will continue to face tough competition and market share will dwindle

rise in obesity, improving and updating program, emphasis on sensible long term weight loss.

You'd have to be an idiot not to keep this company from getting more robust.

While Weight Watchers has a steady stream of income (and, in the best tradition of health clubs, generates income from people who don't bother to attend), frequent program changes and confusing differences between geographical regions point to a company that doesn't have a marketing and management strategy that works. Their reliance on undertrained and underpaid leaders makes one wonder where all the cash is going.
