Aside from Huxley, APB will be the next GTA and WZEN stands to profit handsomely.

Have a game coming out for all major platforms next summer created with former Grand Theft Auto creators... With a release this fall, coupled with ABP next summer - I think we could have a 10x on our hands...

Webzen is a videogame making company that is critically hailed for their good ideas, but as of now they have shown a consistent number of problems with execution. Their market is extremely limited, and their much-delayed game, Huxley, has some crossover appeal but ultimately it is unlikely to be able to gain success.

Just take a look at the economy. Money is going to be tight and video games should take a little bump for awhile

I'm so on the fence about if Huxley will be any good. I made some caps off this pick. Pulled out a few days ago.. and jumping back in now that I read reliably that Huxley is coming out on the 360. I thought that these gains were a little silly for a mmo on the pc that has a 80% chance of flopping. But an MMO/FPS on the 360 is the real news. The kids gotta stop playing Halo 3 one day, and they might as well pay a monthly fee to play an MMO/FPS where they can level up and grief newbs with their uber gear while cursing into the headset like adults... Genius... we must watch for the peak, the drop, read the reviews for the PC version, and if halfway decent.... invest the real dollers into the timing of the 360 version. I'll put imaginary money in now though.

Dont know much about this one but it looks crazy low right now and has a five star CAPS rating. Gaming is only going to grow with more computer penetration into growing markets.

P/E growth

Do you know how many registered users they have? With the recent money Activision got, and a industry bigger than the movie industry, this is a great bet. Many companies will be interested in their Online gaming technology, and to tap into all of their registered users. Also a recent buyback in stock because executives thought the company was undervalued is a great sign!

a good stock to own now

Developer of Huxley, which is a highly anticipated MMORPG, and will be distributed in China through The9 Limited (NCTY) not to mention globally, and is also slated to be an xbox 360 game. Speculative stock, but this game could be the catalyst that causes the stock price to appreciate.

Major income from China and 5 new releases in the next 12 months...if only 2 are well received, we are in for a real ride!

There is a very big problem with this company and it's quite simple: they have limited growth potential in their respective countries and their growth lies in foreign countries....aka China. Being a South Korean who has lived in Korea and in the US when MMORPGs were first taking off in both countries, I've had the good fortune of playing almost all of the dominant online games (Lineage (one of the biggest online games in Asia)Everquest as well as Asheron's Call (I'd have to say the best MMORPG game before World of warcraft). As anyone who has played AC (Asheron's Call) will tell you, it was hands down the better game compared to Everquest. Unfortuantely, it lost out simply due to lack of a strong subscriber base compared to Everquest. In the online RPG world, what makes or breaks the game is its subscriber base. If there is a dominant game in place, you must somehow find a way to steal that subscriber base and it is incredibly...if not impossible to do this without having a great game AND spending a ton of money on marketing like what blizzard has done with world of warcraft. Small companies like webzen simply cannot compete on this level.
NCTY, the company that has the license to operate WOW is the clear emerging winner amongst all the online game providers in the Chinese market and they are diversifying their porfolio of products that they are offering. In the last few weeks, an announcement was made that the company would partner with electronic arts to operate FIFA online (did you know china makes up 20% of the world's soccer audience?). All these positive news for NCTY spells a lack of growth for companies like webzen. Just remember, there is no #2 in online gaming. You either rake in all of the money..or you fall to oblivion. The only way webzen can avoid this is by having a pipeline of great games that are of a different type from what other dominant gaming companies are offering, but that's clearly not the case. Maybe you'll see a small bounce from its lows of ~4$ here and there, but you're much better investing in a company like NCTY, an online gaming company with true growth potential.
