Great basket of biotechnology stocks. Long-term health-care play.

Biotechs will be the hottest performing sector driven by two factors:
1) Obama's healthcare debacle will drive Big Pharma into the less profitable generics market. Looking for more profitable streams of revenue, Big P will buy biotch firms as a means to increase potential top line revenues.
2) Baby boomers are geometrically increasing. Hence, the "silver bullit" search for AD and MS drugs as well as Oncology drugs will continue unabated.

BioTech ETF should do well while things go crazy 'til late 2010.

I think this one will be a good long term investment.

Biotech and anything in the healthcare field will be great over the next year or so. I am not scared of the new administration's focus. I think it will benefit the industry.

zz...nice bottom...etc...

Is this the right time to call a bottom in the latest biotech plunge? It's hard to know, but I am the kind of guy that enjoys a nice bottom. So here goes ...

rally in the overall market is in the cards. long for a short while

Betting with Fast Money Karen on this one...you go girl!

Pick this up at $46-$48. Too hard to pick a single biotech winner but I think the overall sector will outperform in 2009.

Going to do a sector call... I think biotech will regain favor as all the breakthroughs start finding profitability in the real world.

Boitech is entering a bull market phase

Biotech should be less susceptible to recession overall. This industry is focused on new ideas that will create new avenues to profit.

This is the only one of my first investments that's kept on making money over the last six months. Genetically-modified foods are winning acceptance, biofuels are fashionable, Craig Venter's involved and there is a heck of a lot more genetic info -- and the brain- and computing power to sort through it -- than there used to be. If there is going to be any new, major breakthrough akin to the internet any time soon, or a magic bullet against climate change, I think it'll come from here. Plus, it took a big beating after the last bubble.
Recs
Biotech is currently undervalued as a sector, with its holdings having an average P/E around 15. XBI contains a good portfolio of biotech stocks. Great ETF compared to some of the other Biotech ETFs which hold over 50% of their money in 2 stocks. Low expense and management fees.
Recs
Product revenue control for sector diluted by required big pharma marketing partner; profits diluted by cost containment/reimbursement
