Financial Select Sector SPDR (ETF) (XLF)

CAPS Rating:
**

Seeks to replicate the total return of the Financial Select Sector of the S&P 500 Index. It unbundles the benchmark S&P 500 and gives the investor ownership in particular sectors of industries that are represented by a specified Select Sector Index.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Very tough to pick a bottom but I am going to try. Last day of Q2, so probably some quarter end selling. News flow is as bad as it gets, with the possible exception of another high profile failure. Probably will pick up a little in real life too. Don't feel very heroic, but don't want to pass this up either.

No one can pick the bottom but me, haha just kidding, reality is that this etf is much closer than further from the bottom and when you hear over half the analysts out there are stating this about a sector thats at an all time low and has been crushed?? maybe it's there now!

At some point, they're cheap enough. When everyone else gives up, buy. Maybe in a year I'll buy some homebuilders.
