+ Watch XYL
on My Watchlist
Global water solutions provider
Long term water player plus a dividend.
While I concur with an insightful down-arrow, I bearishly expect the general market will go down in this time-frame, leaving this a 'beat' for mostly the same reasons TMFnoceilings states :-)
Increasing population is creating a strong demand for water innovation, and the more than $1 trillion required to update American water infrastructure makes Xylem a nice investment.
Smart acquisitions will allow them to outperform the market and their competitors.
This is part of my very long bet on water and water treatment.
water - fundamentals
Using the recent post-"meh"-earnings pullback to get in on this fella, on both CAPS and my Roth. Trading at a fairly reasonable P/E (trailing a lil over 18, forward around 12) for an industry that I can only see demand growing for as the world population goes up, up, up and old infrastructure throughout much of the developed world continues to degrade. They also appear to have a big opportunity in treating fracking water waste. And for icing, their current modest 1.4% dividend yield is supported by a miniscule 7% payout ratio, adding a potential dividend arbitrage element to the bargain. Leverage is modest at around 65% of equity, cash flows aren't too shabby despite the earnings miss. Looks like a buy and hold, hold, hold to me!
Recent spinoff from ITT focused on water. As the world's water supply comes under pressure to service the billions of people on the planet, companies who can test, filter and treat it will find their products and services in high demand.
