It looks like yahoos heyday is past. Maybe they will be bought by someone.

Yahoo lost a ton of marketshare to Google, and now Bing has taken off. Maybe not anytime soon, but at some point they are going to fall off the map. There are better long term picks, MSFT being one of them.

Negative Revenue and Earnings growth. They are losing Market share to Microsoft and have an outdated product that most don't even use anymore. Balance sheet is excellent so they will survive but I don't see much upside unless they get bought out.

If it wasn't for Yahoo Finance I would have forgotten all about them. Sure Yahoo was great in the 90's, and Yahoo mail was a great solution to Hotmail, but now is Yahoo even relevant?

Yahoo search sucks, I wonder who still uses Yahoo to "google stuff", Yahoo Mail is horrible, anyone that went to Gmail from Yahoo can point that out in 2 minutes.

Yahoo will be the AOL of portals. I can imagine that eventually someone will buy Yahoo, or better yet, parts of Yahoo, and just turn off all the useless pieces for good.

Eventually all the useless internet advertising will alienate users from clicking on any ad links, and with tools like ADP, many people already don't see them. Yahoo can't charge for services because there are better free ones that everyone will go to, so what are they going to do?

You can't polish this crap. The new CEO is arrogant I don't think the company is going to do well from here forward. The gap between Google and Yahoo in the paid search business is large. That gap will grow if Google can appeal to advertisers with their market penetration as the economy recovers. All that content and Yahoo still can't figure out how to make a buck. Shame shame.

WTF??! This stock has a P/E 52.86?? Even more incredible, Yahoo Finance shows a P/E ratio of >1,600!?! This is ridiculous. If this stock is not a bubble, I don't know what is.

-Losing market share
-Way overpriced with P/E over 52 vs Google 30
-Bartz knows how to cut cost but knows nothing about the business.
-Yahoo is done for, thanks to Goog...just like Ebay (taken over by Amazon).

Losing sales revenue - down 80%.

Losing market share.

No purchase or joint venture in the works by Microsoft or anyone else.

I see nothing to save this company from Google's dominance. Google gets the best talent and pumps up cutting-edge products while Yhoo is forced to close down their services that were unique (eg launchcast).

Female CEO: Carol Bartz

Yahoo Inc plans to name longtime Silicon Valley executive Carol Bartz as its next chief executive....

"She's known as a tough and fair leader; she's known for bringing people together and building consensus," said Allen Weiner, an analyst at Gartner. "That's certainly something that Yahoo needs right now. They need that adult leader to bring that order to the company."

At the same time, Weiner said: "She's not a hard-core engineer... She's not what you would call a dot-com or Web insider, but maybe that's not what Yahoo needs right now."

Bill Gates is going to have himself a BARGAIN.

Right now, he can "rescue" Y! for $12 a share and look like Santa Claus.

(He will save 67% on what he would have paid 6 months ago)
