This is the smallest of the storage reits.. It has acquired more space and has done well for me.

YSI is another stock whose price is too low. Everyone has to use storage units from time to time. It shoule return to a prce above $5.00 before the end of the year.
but of course anyone can make that prediction these days as all of the stocks selling way below what they should be.

This appears to be a very safe stock that is underpriced. I feel it could drop some more but will just be following the market if it does. Upside looks to be double.

Moving from houses to rentals will keep the demand for storage space up. This is not really one of the luxary items that people can do without.

STRONG 4th quarter results...
17% increase in FFO per share
7% increase in same store rental income
7% increase in same store NOI

Storage is huge. I expect their occupancy to grow from 82% to 92% over the next 3 quarters and I suspect we'll see a 17% increase year over year in FFO for each quarter in 2008.

In theface of rising home foreclosures it seems obvious many people losing their homes and having to take up residency in smaller rentals will need room to store things. I think the market is wrong on this one... sending the stock down. Perhaps not a "stellar" growth story, but more a timing play.

Mgmt turnaround is going to boost margins and increased rate penetration is going to boost top line growth over the next two years. 5.5% dividend yield adds downside protection.

U-Store-It Trust (YSI) is a self-administered and self-managed real estate company focused on the ownership, operation, acquisition and development of self-storage facilities in the United States. The company’s portfolio comprises of nearly 400 owned self-storage facilities totaling more than 25 million rentable square feet. The company derives more than 40% of its revenues from Florida, California and Illinois.

The growing demand for self-storage facilities has intensified the competition among self-storage operators. The $22.6 billion self-storage industry competes on the basis of occupancy levels, rental rates and operating expenses of facilities. Self-storage units are categorized on the basis of residential customers for storage of personal use and commercial customers for storage of stock. The market for residential segment is more then double when compared to its counterpart commercial segment. The overwhelming demand for storage facility has made customers less price sensitive and considers convenient location as the major buying decision criterion. U-Store-It through its focus on above average demographic growth markets like Florida, California and Texas should be able to gain advantage from this favorable self-storage environment.

The company acquired 60 facilities during the first nine months of 2006, which helped them to push their rental revenues by 51%. To continue with this momentum of rental revenues the company recently bought Dublin Self Storage. Considering its rental rates and occupancy levels, the company seems to be on road to achieve funds from operation (FFO) for fiscal 2007 i.e. around $1.11-$1.21 per share. Moreover, encouraging market condition should supplement this FFO guidance, which makes investing in YSI, a safe bet.

This is a storage REIT. The new CEO is the former CEO of Storage USA, which was one of the better run storage REITs prior to selling out to GE. The new CEO has also lured his former CFO from his days at Storage USA away from another REIT as well. Given the economics of storage REITs and the valuation here with a 7% yield (which I could argue a cut in would make sense, but I digress) I think this is a market beater.
