CAPS Rating:
*****

The Company operates as a grantor trust.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Great dividends, and a great deal, but we must consider the risks.

BPT is a royalty trust with its dividends ultimately based on a percentage cut of oil revenues from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska operations.

Declining output at the oil fields will lead to trouble. The dividend will soon be cut as payouts are unsustainable. Then, watch out below!

Great dividend! Annual report states Prudhoe Bay will keep producing at current levels until at least 2020.

50 day MA has crossed below 200 day MA. A down draft is coming unless the petro market spikes.

This stock will advance as oil advances. It has a wasting production of oil, however, as oil increases in price the dividend continues to go up. It currently is paying about 15% and should continue to for the next 4 years at least.

Great dividend! In the next few years where do YOU think the price of oil will go? The declining oil reserves in Prudhoe Bay may be a concern in the long term, near and mid term the undeniable upward trend in oil prices will keep this pick trending up or stable in total returns (dividend plus share price).
