Although the economy isn't the greatest, there will always be the need for heavy machinery. The company my husband works for is always buying new 988s, wagons, boulder breakers, etc. The machinery may be spendy, but it's definitely worth it's value!

It has taken some hits in the Diesel Engine division, but has started making some moves that hopefully will reinforce a potentially failing customer base in the Heavy Truck industry. I believe Cat is starting to address some pressing issues associated with emissions standards, reallignment of the truck industry, increase in power generation, and utility production services that have a great potential to aid their traditionally strong performace from their Heavy Equipment Division.
