Here's some math for you. The price per POP (Point of Presence - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_of_presence) for the recently ended FCC Auction averaged out to be $0.77. This has missed its already negative earnings the last 5 quarters. It will continue to have increasing -EPS.

WiMax will be the next big thing in broadband service. Clearwire is teamed with Sprint, Intel, Google, Comcast, Time Warner, and Bright House Networks. They have been underperforming the S&P 500 while spending a lot of money building infrastructure. Once this technology reaches its tipping point this is going to be big. Think two-way video over your iPhone on the move.

This a high risk - high reward play on WIMAX. The stock is not for the faint of heart or one to be placed into your retirement portfolio, but McCaw has deep poctkets and the company appears to be well managed. High debt is a crtical concern.
