*****

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Hate to bet against a Fool pick, 5 star but it's too pricy now (up

40% in last few months). P/e is 25, revenue growth is low and slowing (12% 3 years ago, now 6%). Earnings growth can't be

far behind.

Could be there's something I don't know.

CPRT is an industry leader in the salvage auction business. Current price is $30.30, near its 52 week low of $28. Big market cap, very high profit margin more than triple the industry average, decent price per free cash per share, management effectiveness is okay, ROI is huge, and corporate efficiency is stellar. Earnings look stable. Projected earnings have been downgraded, but still show good growth for next fiscal year (about 15%).

On the flip side: they have some debt, not much cash per share, and valuation ratios are a bit high but decent. CPRT doesn't seem to have done well vs. the S&P 500 lately. Even so, they have a good beta, so should come roaring back when the market turns up.

CPRT is a big, entrenched business in a stable industry. They will continue to grow.

With lower gasoline prices, that are going to stay low, this company has a good prospect.
