Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. (CTBI)

CAPS Rating:
*

A bank holding company, which through its subsidiaries is engaged in a range of commercial and personal banking and trust activities.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

32MM in profits for fiscal year 2007. Only down 4MM from 2006 due to reinvesting of funds. Very stable bank with excellent asset quality and good projections. 77 branches and still expanding. The opposite of most other banks right now... A bank that is actually making money in a world where financials are crumbling... imagine the potential when things are good!! (FULL DISCLOSURE: I work for this corporation and own shares of their stock)

During the savings and loans crisis, many depositary institutions failed. The credit crisis is much bigger and WIlbur Ross thinks regional banks are in big trouble.

That is, until there is a new No. 1 stock!
