Because the stock price in the current market has nothing to do with its value, the company's solvency, their products etc...

1. This may be my most unusual pitch, especially in these times; however, this is a bank holding company, operating thrifts, mortgages, insurance agency, and securities. The principal subsidary is Doral Bank, a PR bank.
2. What is unusual about the financial structure of this company is that you are trading the stub or 10% of the company only. 90% of the company is owned by Doral Holdings, LLC of Delaware, a banking entity formed in 2007 to purchase the stock for $610M. It has about 10 shareholders (including Bear, Sterns) but no fallout from their problems with effect the bank.
3. The Dividend rate is nil and the income is negative.
4. The net profit margin as with nearly all banks has shrunk.
5. Book value per share: $23.77.
6. ROE is negative.
