Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

In a bad economy the upper-middle class starts buying middle class again (i.e. from Ethan Allen to IKEA -- AKA the Target to Wal-Mart effect) Ethan Allen is the quinticential upper-middle class company. Nice stuff, highly priced, but completely not necessary when compared to other lost cost alternatives. When the $100g+ crowd decides that the Xmas furniture upgrade is not necessary and their home equity won't be able to pay for it, they will start bailing on these guys or holding off on new furniture purchases all together. And down we go Mr. Allen. When we are all eating Turkey on the old furniture in November, Ethan will be demanding more than a surrender of Fort Ticondaroga. The trick is seeing if this guy loses faster than the market this year.

This is a good company with solid financials. They will be able to survive an economic downturn. However, they sell home furnishings and accessories that can be fairly expensive. With people cutting back on expenses soley to meet necessities, I don't see tons of people buying home furnishings. IMO, this company will see sales decline in the short-term, making it an underperformer for a while.

Ethan Allen is a great company and I buy their stuff when I think it's price-competitive (although Target furniture is more passable all the time).

I think the stock is hugely overvalued at $28. I expect a pullback in luxury furniture spending this year as fewer people furnish new homes, which will further dampen ETH growth.
