Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. (FLE)

CAPS Rating:
*

The Company is involved in the production of both recreational vehicles and manufactured housing. It also operates three supply companies that provide components for the recreational vehicle and housing operations, while also generating outside sales.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

I cant imagine the demand increasing for the recreational vehicle side of the business with oil and gas at record highs.Wanna fill that 100+ gallon tank?Consumer spending is down.Oh yeah, they are not even making money.

Don't see how things could get any uglier. Either they'll recover or they'll go bankrupt.

Sales of RVs can not be strong considering the prices of gas. Also with the real estate market in a muck, I can not imagine new home sales being strong enough to push this equity passed the S & P.

I saw a RV on I90 yesterday. It was pulling a jeep wrangler. It came from CT.

It stuck out in traffic like a eyesore. Traffic was going 5mph if we were lucky. Wonder how many times it got off the highway to fill its take. Did I tell you, this was in Chicago. Where gas prices are highest in nation... $4.49 per gallon (Regular!!!)

Even if gas drops, who's going to buy a RV now. And RE is bleeding, why would anyone buy anything related to construction?

Its losing money in goods years, its going to die in current environment.

Not very many of these companies are going to make it for obvious reasons. RVing is thing of the past. Winnebago might be the only one to make it out alive

Hopefully those who are hooked on motor homes will take advantage of the better fuel efficiency of the newer models. Also fle manufactured homes could be the answer for low cost housing. They may be needed in the flood areas… or would they just float away...

That is, until there is a new No. 1 stock!
