NCR Corp (NCR)

CAPS Rating:
***

A global technology Company that provides innovative products and services to help businesses build stronger relationships with their customers.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Automated tellers save companies money, so NCR should not be hurt by an economic downturn.

ATMs were the first major, do-it-yourself technology. I think it started the trend to where whatever you want will come down to you doing it rather than a company paying people to help you do it. If you believe that trend will continue, NCR is company you need to look at, especially now when it is trading so low.

They have serious growth opportunities as the US has been slow to adopt their unmanned kiosks, but eventually this country will.

It's flat lined here at around $20 or so dollars for the last several months. I think that shows it's hit it's resistance to the downside and you can expect an upward trend.

NCR makes self-service kiosks. Although they have not caught on in a big way (yet) in the US, they have been well-received in Europe. It's the way things are going. Have you been through the self-check out at your local supermarket? You probably used an NCR-built machine. I believe they also have a lot of the important patents and experience and name-beand recognition to rule this market.
