*

The Corporation offers a full range of financial services through its subsidiaries. The Corporation's main subsidiary, Banco Santander Puerto Rico, provides a wide range of financial products and services to a diverse customer base.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Another pickup from the 52-week low recycling bin - but this one's a bank with a +3% dividend (its only redeeming safety feature). Unfortunately, this bank is based in Puerto Rico so the daily volume is miniscule, and the 1YTD chart doesn't look very promising either. At this critical $18 juncture, this one could go either way, and I'm unwilling to place my bets on either. It was recently upgraded by Sandler O'Neill, who're probably the only ppl following it anymore. (Disc: I don't own SBP, but I think it'd be interesting to see what will happen with this stock. If I had a million dollars, I might buy some SBP.)
