Superlattice Power, Inc. (SLAT.OB)

CAPS Rating:
*

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Remember when Enron used subsidiaries to make its balance sheet look good. Hybrid Technologies, Inc is using SLAT.OB in much the same capacity. It’s the same game, only the names have changed.

I'm looking to ride this stock up for a week and turn bearish next week.

What company am I shorting? SLAT.OB brings up Superlattice Power in Yahoo! Finance. Then, if you click on Company Profile, it's talking about Zingo Inc. Then I find out from Tastylunch that it used to be called JavaKing Coffee. Yahoo! has its company website as www.tradewindsteelecom.com, and it...More

Wow - What a complete piece of garbage. This tiny company with almost no cash (9k in cash vs. 4.2M in debt... and 250M market cap) claims they are working on breakthrough battery technology that will help cars drive 200 miles. A daunting feat that Billion dollar companies like Ford, GM, Toyota, and Honda are all struggling with not to mention tons of billion dollar industrial companies and power companies has a $240M market cap.

The burden of proof is on these guys and my bet is they can't put up.

Reading thought some of these press releases on this company's website and...oh no. I'm in IT. I know this game. Sometimes I PLAY this game. This is using a lot of jargon and technical phrases in a manor to confuse and impress people not seasoned enough to realize that it's all more or less meaningless. I'm no expert on superlattices or whatever it is, but it does nothing but remind of occasions where I'm on the phone with a sales person at a software vendor and they go on about how "Web services can leverage the SOA of the Java beans and..." Yeah. Tip to those guys - don't try that tactic on a guy who designs those systems for a living.

Blowing a smokescreen up using fancy words is usually just a way of disguising a crappy or non-existant product, and I'm almost certain that's what's going on here.

Their site is horrible and tries to confuse people with all technical crap.. I actually understand that stuff, and it is all a load of garbage. Ok they are saying wow we saw in other research that superlattice structures can produce higher energy densities, nobody can actually produce them at large scale, and we are researching it! WOW. It is not even like they even have a product at all. So I do not understand a 200mm market cap for some company that changed into some technical sounding name, and has basically nothing to sell.

Here are some examples...
Other Partners (Name should be disclosed once we sign NDA and Project Partnership):

1. USA Research and Development laboratories.
2. Recognized Universities in the USA and Canada.
3. Manufacturers Worldwide.

hahahhahaha

Several industries are still continuing their research works and commercialization to introduce new efficient separators. At present Celgard and DuPont are leading industries in this field.
participants. We will maintain NDA rules.

Are you serious, this seems to be written by idiots.

I normally red thumb companies that put excel-generated charts of their research on their "preliminary results" page. Superlattice Power is more likely the next superhero movie than it is a real company.
