CAPS Rating:
****

The Company develops, manufactures, and sells a family of systems, including a line of 3D printers, all of which create physical models from computerized designs.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Because the economy is the driving factor for a company such as this.
So much right now depends on the election of 2008. If the Democrats get into office they will pass tax laws benefiting the Solar industry the electric auto industry and the Bio Tech industry. This will cause millions of new jobs which in turn will allow more people to have purchasing power. Thus, more demand for the new products that will need to be created to make these things function. Thats when SSYS will be helping with the new designs and prototypes.
Trickle down economics is a big lie. People with money to spend runs the economy not the 1% mega rich who hoard their wealth. There has to be a need for a product before someone builds it. Not the other way around. You don't just build a product and hope someone buys it.

Note to self:

Never pay 30+ times trailing earnings for a company with EPS growth and ROE of under 15%, no matter how "cool" the product is. Good thing I never bought this in real life.
