*

The Company is an originator and holder of student loans offering an array of student loan products to students and their parents.

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other players to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

High debt/equity ratio. Economy is in trouble. Interest rates must go up.

High Pole pattern deadly in this market environment. There is support at $91-93 but a break below that level and the stock is going to drop another $10 to the low $80's. Looks like a good short according to p&f chart.

Student Loan is a strange animal. 100% of shares are held by Institutional and Mutual Fund holders. 80% is held by CitiGroup (same for 5 years). I believe the student loan crisis is about to end and the share price for STU has bottomed. Right now it is paying a 5% dividend. I held it for two years buying at 122 and selling at 219, plus dividends. I'm back in now.

I got absolutely slaughtered by First Marblehead. STU looks like a safe way to play the recovery of the student loan sector. It's very cheap at the moment.

If you cannot borrow it from a Corner store loaning a maximum amount of $1,000.00 with 40% interest being charged per hundred you borrow, forget it. Banks are not giving away money any more for an education. Take high school more serious and start getting A's it will pay off in the long run to get free money. Because student loans and the question is "whats that?"
