Now that Napster is gone, music piracy is a thing of the past. They should now have no problem selling overpriced CDs to the gullible youth market!

Oh wait! They don't have a book value! And more than half of the assets on their balance sheet (which balances pretty nicely right at 0) a...More

This stock is very volatile. I wish I could trade it, but I haven't figured out what is moving this stock... The only thing I've figured out so far is that this company has financially doomed operations in a financially doomed industry.

Oh wait! They don't have a book value! And more than half of the assets on their balance sheet (which balances pretty nicely right at 0) are not really assets at all:


$1B in "Goodwill"


$1.75B in "Intangible Assets"


$900M in "Receivables" (which are inherently unreceivable, because if they could receive them they would have already).


Backing out those iffy numbers take the book value from $0 to $-2.65B... $-1.1B if you back out the payables to be fair. But at this point, why be fair to such a company?


So, can anybody tell me why this company is trading 80% or so above its 52-week low?

A PE of 344 is all I really need to say.





But I'll say more, negative earnings AND negative equity/book value/net asset value.

i got burned to the tune of an unjustified 25% bounce when this one was $5 per share. while it is still pretty cheap overall, I think the downside is still looming large here. I can't find a reason to like this stock. lets hope that the market wakes up and sends this where it truly belongs....straight down the chute

Record companies are rapidly becoming obsolete. With digital technology and the internet, musicians can bypass the middleman and distribute their music digitally via internet.
