*

The Company manufactures and distributes kitchen cabinets and vanities for the remodeling and new home construction markets.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Good cash flow, easy business to understand. I liked the price better 6 months ago, but still looks like a long term buy.

This company does not know the difference in quality and crap. Most all their product now is crap. You can sell it for a while then no one will buy it any more. They are destroying their brand with a bad product.

They don"t know a good worker from a bad one -a good cabinet from a bad one. Have no regard for either.

Get with the program, American Woodmark, and use your brain bank in the older employees who are still loyal to the company.

Contrarian pick. They are a cabinet maker that sells into new home construction market (dead) and through HD/Lowe's (dead).

My reasoning is that things have gotten pretty bad already (much worse than mgmt thought), and they're still FCF breakeven. They've been buying back stock with their cash, on top of a small dividend, so they could cut that out to improve their liquidity position.

Also, the co claims to have exited lower-margin product lines, making their remaining portfolio higher margin and with a higher % of fixed costs. So if/when a recovery in volumes does come, they should have stronger operating leverage than they did before.

The biggest reason for worry is that I think there's more pain to be had, and management seems too sunny (as they were with their FY08 projections) so they may not do all the things they could to mitigate the damage. But I don't think they're going broke and their historical margins are pretty strong.

this company makes no sence. how can anyone buy this stock when the housing market is in the tank ! i know for a fact that they closed one of their plants , because they dont have enough orders to keep their employees working full weeks. what i see is this company going private soon ,they have seen better days and now its time to fall back to just being a average cabinet maker.
