I signed up just to write this pitch. People who say that the B&M model of BBI is outdated simply have not been into a blockbuster lately. It's near impossible to get a new release on the weekends (a problem that Keyes is aware of).

Aiming for another Bankruptcy here. This company has huge debt problems, so they may get trounced in the current environment.

Their brick and mortar dvd rental business was profitable when there weren't cheap, easy alternatives. Online streaming is the wave of the future for instant access, otherwise Netflix gets dvd's to you at a very fast rate via U.S. mail. Basing your whole business model on convincing people to spend gas driving to your store in order to pay $4 + tax to rent a single DVD (and then spend more gas to drop it off) is a recipe for bankruptcy. Although Blockbuster has the same mail rental system as Nexflix, they are not as good at it. As long as we hold corruption in a single heart, blockbuster will continue to survive. If they start becoming less profitable, they will not hesitate to cut down on costs by exploiting employees and closing inefficient stores. At its 52 week low and low p/e we'll probably see some insider trading, Blockbuster will eliminate the need for shareholders and employees, which is why they adopted the "say-on-pay" policies for their leadership. I have a great respect for uncompromising evil that embodies the negative aspects of corporations, and this was drilled into me by blockbuster.
