We're on the verge of an exodus of money from markets globally. This stock is up significantly over the past 12 months and it will suffer a big pullback as investors flee.

Recs 0 (DSX) TheHuney (82.20) Submitted: 11/21/08 1:08 PM : Start Price: $7.83 DSX Score: 3.34 The dry bulk shipping industry is very cyclical and with the industry getting absolutely battered in the market lately, this would seem like an ideal time to buy in. There still might be some significant downside here, but I like DSX's low leverage (22.7% debt-to-value ratio) and large supply of cash ($16.8 million on the last balance sheet with $21 million of current liabilities). They had about $2.34 per share in cash flows from operations from their previous year; that will obviously drop in the next year or so, but it's good to know that they have been raking in cash before. Book value on DSX's '07 Balance Sheet was $12.54 per share. Since a large chunk of their assets is vessels that will probably get written down for their next financial statements, that will drop, but since the stock is selling at a considerable discount to that price, this provides a good deal of cushion. Overall, this appears to be a beaten-down stock of a company that looks to be well-positioned to survive the current turmoil. Report this Post Replies: 0 \| Reply \| Permalink Oops!
