Oil and natural gas exploration primarily in the gulf of Mexico. Prices going up and this is a well run small company. Expansion plans include building the largest building in OK city for it's new HQ.

To the extent that there is a real drop in demand, OPEC is going to reduce the supply to bring the price back up. Governments worldwide are pumping billions of dollars into economic recovery programs. The price is going back up, probably in time for the 2009 summer vacation season. Recs 0 (DVN) MysterInsidious (99.98) Submitted: 11/18/08 1:42 PM : Start Price: $76.24 DVN Score: 8.44 Oil, gas, and most commodities in general have been sold off hard due to recession fears, hedge fund redemptions, margin calls, and unwinding of the yen carry trade. Despite the US government printing money to help save the US economy, the dollar's value has increased significantly against most world currencies with the exception of the yen. I believe the unwinding of the carry trade has helped to push prices of commodities and anything related to commodities too far. Once these negative pressures are exhausted, I believe the US dollar will go back to declining in value, especially when China, Japan, the Middle East, and other countries reduce or stop purchasing treasury bonds to focus more on their own economic problems.
