Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Although senior healthcare services may be on the rise, Sunrise's sales are not. In the first 2 quarters of 2008, Sunrise marginally beat it's same period revenues for 2007 (8% increase). However, operating costs for this company have increased at a rate of 11% over the same period. IN addition, this company does not have enough current assets to cover current liabilities for last FY. EPS growth has been increasingly negative from 2006 to 2008 (-0.43, -1.44, -1.29) and the "-1.29" figure is only for the first half of 2008. It's German operations have been a disappointment, with the company now exercising options to repurchase that portion of it's business, the future of which is questionable. Sunrise's "Trinity" business has been a financial loser, and it's costs related to increased labor, food, utilities, SEC investigation, shareholder litigation, and abandoned real estate projects have skyrocketed. Compared to it's own industry, the results for this company have been a flop. Regardless of how "profitable" senior care may appear, this company needs help beyond any immediate remedies. I would avoid this stock, unless you love speculating.

I think Sunrise Senior Living will be profitable in the future because of the large baby boomer population. This group will soon be getting to the age where they will require more medical attention and prescription drugs, as well as help from assisted living centers. A place like Sunrise Senior living will become sought after.

That is, until there is a new No. 1 stock!
