If inflation does rise, as all analysts and helicopter money indicate, then all Insurance companies should benefit to some degree, and act as the hedge they normally have been. At least, this is my understanding of the industry. Then there is the AIG effect, I think still lingering from the financial crisis. I had to think twice before buying. So I want to own AIG after what happened in 2008? I think there is still some stigma in the name itself, so I hope it will have shed this and put its financials on the right path further than they already have in the next two years....

It has badly trailed since my last "buy", so I'm selling and rebuying to effectively add to make stake. They trail at a huge discount to book value. Though I think their book value is overstated due to reserve inadequacy on old business, I believe their underwriting & execution will generate attractive profits on current business relative to market value. They still have one of the most valuable franchises in the industry.
