Aqua Metals Inc.,AQMS, is a high-tech lead recycling company with a very unique patented process.

Instead of using a traditional smelting process that produces heat and emissions, AQMS is able to recycle lead from various sources using a room temperature water-based process.

This process is becoming increasingly important in a world filled with consumer technology. That's because the majority of consumer batteries are known as lead acid batteries (or LAB). And in order to provide a growing number of batteries to consumers around the world, manufacturers are increasingly in need of the necessary lead.

But demand for lead acid batteries comes with its own set of problems. Mining lead can be damaging to the global environment. And even though recycled lead now fills more than 70% of the demand for lead in these batteries, the traditional smelting process for recycling also causes harm to the environment.

So it's no wonder that AQMS’ process of using biodegradable solvents and an elecro-chemical process to recycle lead for batteries is gaining a lot of attention.

Since mid-December when the Democrats won the final two Senate seats, shares of AQMS have surged from about $1.25 per share to close yesterday at $6.44.

With the Democrats able to control policy in Washington, there's no doubt that environmental regulations will be tightened which will make AQMS lead recycling patent all the more valuable.
