This is a type of stock called BDC. They mostly take a debt + equity stake in a private business with $5-$20 million EBITDA. They basically earn leveraged return. Their performance in last 10 years was CAGR of 17.5% vs SPY at 12.5%. Current Dividend yield is 6.65%

There is no magic. I believe they take 50% extra risk because their invest ~$900 million worth with $450 million equity and ~$450 million debt, hence they generate higher return given their cost of debt is likely lower than what they earn. However, this is interesting one as atleast for last 10-years they managed to do this well. However, last 10-years were also very good years for S&P500. Since inception of 2005 has managed to barely beat the SPY by 0.6% per year.

In fact 2007 was their worst year vs SPY, with -31% vs +5.5% for SPY.
