Gran Tierra Energy Inc (NYSEMKT:GTE)

"Right now" is the time to buy into GTE. I won't give all the reasons why here because I think you need to do your own research, but their most recent projections gave a "high case" in oil prices which would allow them to greatly expand their own capex. That high case has already been exceeded, and management has applied to buyback 5% of the company's outstanding shares this coming year. If you believe oil is due for a medium-sized (or larger) recovery, this is an excellent way to play that prediction.

Rolling the dice on oil. From a conversation with a fellow trader "We are at 50 dollar oil. From a high of 108. Downside is $20. $30 is the bare minimum before companies literally starting shutting down shop. Fracking would be history. So there is still a significant downside, but there is way more upside at this point. We have already seen the rig counts crumble 9% over the last couple months and all the huge (big oil) are annoncing magor capex cuts. So here it is, either oil has bottomed and I quadruple on everything by Decemeber, OR it goes down to 35 and I have the potential of some of these risky investments failing. But even if 2 out of 5 flop, I would still double my money"
