Consistent revenue growth with good dividend to boot. Will take advantage of macro trend of gentrification of urban centers. Focus on E-commerce will help drive growth as well.

Like with Lowe's, Home Depot will not do notably better until the housing market turns around. Like someone else said to my comment about Lowe's, when the housing market pick back up people will buy up properties and those in bad shape will have to… More

With the housing squeeze, I anticipate HD will win in two areas:
1) with contractors as new housing is built
2) with homeowners who decide to remodel rather than look for a new home OR are interested in selling with the higher value and want to fix up prior to doing so.

I can't imagine a scenario in which the King of Home Improvement stores doesn't profit here.

It trades at 20-25x earnings (4-5% yield), and has shown it's fabulous at growing earnings. It's done well with homeowners, small contractors, and supplying larger contractors. It's definitely the leader, with a lot of efficiency that makes it hard to disrupt.

I worry that it could do badly if interest rates rise, making home buying and improvement loans expensive. But this is still a much better value than others in the market, who will also suffer if rates rise. I should have bought it 10 years ago and five years ago, but why wait longer.
