Recs
The Chinese solar panel manufacturer had been involved in a lawsuit over another company's patent infringement. victorious exit from the legal dispute can continue its growth path with well established subsidiaries in europe. the business in secular growth, the esg theme will surely inspire managers in evaluating the excellent opportunities of this company
Recs
Solar is booming and supporting the megatrend of coal exit. Since end of last year solar is often cheaper per MWh compared to coal (depending on loacation) and price per MWh is dropping as the modules get more efficient and supply chain get cheaper. Therefore we see just the start of the boom.
I started with 8,6 $ and added last year stocks for 15,3$, today it is at 22,7 $
Recs
JinkoSolar has certainly made a lot of profit in the past two years, and their trailing P/E is less than 5, according to their earnings reports. Yes, less than 5. They are also leaders in an obviously growing industry bolstered by worldwide climate change agreements and China's need for breathable air. It is basically a baffling mystery why their stock price is not higher.
What might the answer be? Debt is possibly a concern, but their profit and growth seem to outweigh the debt issue. It seems like something else is going on. I used to think that a general fear of Chinese and solar companies was the main factor, but now I am not so sure. Maybe forces unknown to the everyday investor are at work, whatever that might mean.
TMF is not particularly bullish on JKS, maybe because they are backing SPWR and SCTY. Maybe whatever is keeping the stock price down will continue. But maybe a company that continues to make so much money relative to its stock price will eventually gain some long-deserved momentum, as investors can only ignore a money-making company for so long. With a more rational valuation, JKS could be 3 or 4 times higher. In other words, JKS might have a huge upside. Who knows? Whatever has kept the price down might continue to keep the price down, but mathematically, I would say the potential upside makes JKS worth the risk. At least for a CAPS pick :) Having said that, about 10% of my investment income is in JKS.
