Pearson is a company that won't be going anywhere anytime soon. With a wide range of increasingly popular products, and a great reach multi-nationally, it's a safe bet that this will be a well performing stock in the years to come. It likely won't be a large profit for those looking for a quick buck, but definitely a safe bet.

PSO has so frighteningly few potential catalysts amid a structural business reorganization in an industry that is slowly but surely moving into the digital world. This restructuring doesn't bode well for medium-term performance.

Pearson is doubling down on its move to digital content and educational platforms such as student information systems (PowerSchool) and instructional improvement systems (Schoolnet). Domestically it's well positioned to own the lions share of the near $20B ed-tech market. International is largely untapped but emerging quickly. PSO is best positioned to tap into the emerging international market.
